Dear Friend,                                                                                                                               January 20, 2017

It’s hard to believe, but we are about to host our 10th annual “Golshim L’chaim - Ski to Live” program!  Indeed, since 2007, the Chabad Jewish Community Center, in conjunction with Jewish Colorado, has hosted more than 170 Israeli combat veterans for unforgettable weeks of recreation, rejuvenation and inspiration in our beautiful city.

As many have observed over the years, this is truly one of the most meaningful and heartwarming programs of its kind – demonstrating due honor, recognition and appreciation to those who sacrificed so much in defense of our beloved Jewish homeland.  Now, as much as ever, we believe it behooves us to show that we stand for those who have stood for Israel.

This year’s program, taking place during the week of March 7-14, will once again be providing a group of heroic wounded veterans of the IDF with the very best of accommodations, activities, entertainment, and, of course, six glorious days of skiing on our magnificent slopes.

Additionally, with this being the program’s milestone decade-year, and with its auspicious concurrence with the holiday of Purim, we look forward to “Ski to Live 10” being unprecedented in its scope and spirit – enhanced, by many new activities for our guests.

Please know that none of this would be possible without the generous support of friends like you who step forward to help underwrite the costs.  We estimate that the cost of hosting a single soldier – including airfare, food, lodging, entertainment, skiing, and special medical attention, etc. – to be around $5,000.

Enclosed please find a form outlining various levels of support you can sign on for – from sponsoring a single soldier (or perhaps more than one) for a half-day to the entire week.  In appreciation, you and your family are invited to join us for a memorable Shabbat dinner and for Purim festivities at the Chabad JCC in the company of our war heroes during the March 10-12 weekend. Complete with delicious food, spirited singing, uplifting stories and powerful reflections, it will be an experience you won’t want to miss!

Surely you would agree that bringing such joy and respite to those whose lives have been forever altered in so sacred a calling is as much a gift to us as it is to them – if not more so.

Looking forward to your prompt and generous response, we remain,
